Come in…have a seat… The last time we met, you got a pretty heavy dose, so I think this time I’ll prescribe something a little easier to digest. Let’s pickup where we left off, ok? Lets begin… In the discussion about unmet relationship expectations, too often the focus is placed on men (usually with good reason), but sometimes the conversation needs to start with you. Our last couple conversations have been designed to do just that.

Not to mention, most of the messages are telling you either how to get a man or how to turn the tables on the great “double-standard” and start living the promiscuous life like men have for centuries.

Your image and self-worth always seems to be attached to a man in some way. It’s all done so subtly that many women don’t stand a chance against the pressures that society place on women. And you wonder why you could relate to a few too many of the questions I presented to you earlier. That is no coincidence. Have you ever considered that society/men created the maintenance standards for women and over time you just embraced it and “made it your own?” Taking something that was initially used to control and shape self-image and turning it into a positive has been done before. There has been a similar debate over the N-word, but that’s a different subject for a different day. Nevertheless, the question remains… So many of you say you’re free, but are you really?
